Al-Ghashiyah The Overwhelming meccan total:26
- هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡغَٰشِيَةِ
Hal ataka hadeethu alghashiyati
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event] - وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ
Wujoohun yawmaithin khashiAAatun
[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled - عَامِلَةٞ نَّاصِبَةٞ
AAamilatun nasibatun
Working [hard] and exhausted - تَصۡلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةٗ
Tasla naran hamiyatan
They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire - تُسۡقَىٰ مِنۡ عَيۡنٍ ءَانِيَةٖ
Tusqa min AAaynin aniyatin
They will be given drink from a boiling spring - لَّيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٖ
Laysa lahum taAAamun illa min dareeAAin
For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant - لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِي مِن جُوعٖ
La yusminu wala yughnee min jooAAin
Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger - وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ نَّاعِمَةٞ
Wujoohun yawmaithin naAAimatun
[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure - لِّسَعۡيِهَا رَاضِيَةٞ
LisaAAyiha radiyatun
With their effort [they are] satisfied - فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٖ
Fee jannatin AAaliyatin
In an elevated garden - لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةٗ
La tasmaAAu feeha laghiyatan
Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech - فِيهَا عَيۡنٞ جَارِيَةٞ
Feeha AAaynun jariyatun
Within it is a flowing spring - فِيهَا سُرُرٞ مَّرۡفُوعَةٞ
Feeha sururun marfooAAatun
Within it are couches raised high - وَأَكۡوَابٞ مَّوۡضُوعَةٞ
Waakwabun mawdooAAatun
And cups put in place - وَنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوفَةٞ
Wanamariqu masfoofatun
And cushions lined up - وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبۡثُوثَةٌ
Wazarabiyyu mabthoothatun
And carpets spread around - أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡإِبِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ
Afala yanthuroona ila alibili kayfa khuliqat
Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created - وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيۡفَ رُفِعَتۡ
Waila alssamai kayfa rufiAAat
And at the sky - how it is raised - وَإِلَى ٱلۡجِبَالِ كَيۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ
Waila aljibali kayfa nusibat
And at the mountains - how they are erected - وَإِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَيۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ
Waila alardi kayfa sutihat
And at the earth - how it is spread out - فَذَكِّرۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٞ
Fathakkir innama anta muthakkirun
So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder - لَّسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِم بِمُصَيۡطِرٍ
Lasta AAalayhim bimusaytirin
You are not over them a controller - إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
Illa man tawalla wakafara
However, he who turns away and disbelieves - فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرَ
FayuAAaththibuhu Allahu alAAathaba alakbara
Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment - إِنَّ إِلَيۡنَآ إِيَابَهُمۡ
Inna ilayna iyabahum
Indeed, to Us is their return - ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُم
Thumma inna AAalayna hisabahum
Then indeed, upon Us is their account
