'Abasa He Frowned meccan total:42
AAabasa watawalla
The Prophet frowned and turned away -
An jaahu alaAAma
Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting] -
Wama yudreeka laAAallahu yazzakka
But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified -
Aw yaththakkaru fatanfaAAahu alththikra
Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him - أَمَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ
Amma mani istaghna
As for he who thinks himself without need -
Faanta lahu tasadda
To him you give attention -
Wama AAalayka alla yazzakka
And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified -
Waamma man jaaka yasAAa
But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] -
Wahuwa yakhsha
While he fears [Allah] -
Faanta AAanhu talahha
From him you are distracted -
Kalla innaha tathkiratun
No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder -
Faman shaa thakarahu
So whoever wills may remember it - فِي صُحُفٖ مُّكَرَّمَةٖ
Fee suhufin mukarramatin
[It is recorded] in honored sheets -
MarfooAAatin mutahharatin
Exalted and purified -
Biaydee safaratin
[Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels -
Kiramin bararatin
Noble and dutiful -
Qutila alinsanu ma akfarahu
Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he - مِنۡ أَيِّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقَهُۥ
Min ayyi shayin khalaqahu
From what substance did He create him - مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ خَلَقَهُۥ فَقَدَّرَهُۥ
Min nutfatin khalaqahu faqaddarahu
From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him - ثُمَّ ٱلسَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُۥ
Thumma alssabeela yassarahu
Then He eased the way for him - ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُۥ فَأَقۡبَرَهُۥ
Thumma amatahu faaqbarahu
Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him - ثُمَّ إِذَا شَآءَ أَنشَرَهُۥ
Thumma itha shaa ansharahu
Then when He wills, He will resurrect him - كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقۡضِ مَآ أَمَرَهُۥ
Kalla lamma yaqdi ma amarahu
No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him - فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِۦٓ
Falyanthuri alinsanu ila taAAamihi
Then let mankind look at his food -
Anna sababna almaa sabban
How We poured down water in torrents -
Thumma shaqaqna alarda shaqqan
Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts] -
Faanbatna feeha habban
And caused to grow within it grain -
WaAAinaban waqadban
And grapes and herbage -
Wazaytoonan wanakhlan
And olive and palm trees -
Wahadaiqa ghulban
And gardens of dense shrubbery -
Wafakihatan waabban
And fruit and grass -
MataAAan lakum walianAAamikum
[As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock -
Faitha jaati alssakhkhatu
But when there comes the Deafening Blast -
Yawma yafirru almaro min akheehi
On the Day a man will flee from his brother -
Waommihi waabeehi
And his mother and his father -
Wasahibatihi wabaneehi
And his wife and his children -
Likulli imriin minhum yawmaithin shanun yughneehi
For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him - وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ مُّسۡفِرَةٞ
Wujoohun yawmaithin musfiratun
[Some] faces, that Day, will be bright -
Dahikatun mustabshiratun
Laughing, rejoicing at good news -
Wawujoohun yawmaithin AAalayha ghabaratun
And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust -
Tarhaquha qataratun
Blackness will cover them - أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَفَرَةُ ٱلۡفَجَرَةُ
Olaika humu alkafaratu alfajaratu
Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones
