Al-Waqi'ah The Inevitable meccan total:96
- إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
Itha waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu
When the Occurrence occurs - لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
Laysa liwaqAAatiha kathibatun
There is, at its occurrence, no denial - خَافِضَةٞ رَّافِعَةٌ
Khafidatun rafiAAatun
It will bring down [some] and raise up [others] - إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجّٗا
Itha rujjati alardu rajjan
When the earth is shaken with convulsion - وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسّٗا
Wabussati aljibalu bassan
And the mountains are broken down, crumbling - فَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗا
Fakanat habaan munbaththan
And become dust dispersing - وَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗ
Wakuntum azwajan thalathatan
And you become [of] three kinds - فَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ
Faashabu almaymanati ma ashabu almaymanati
Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right - وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ
Waashabu almashamati ma ashabu almashamati
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left - وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ
Waalssabiqoona alssabiqoona
And the forerunners, the forerunners - أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
Olaika almuqarraboona
Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] - فِي جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
Fee jannati alnnaAAeemi
In the Gardens of Pleasure - ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Thullatun mina alawwaleena
A [large] company of the former peoples - وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
Waqaleelun mina alakhireena
And a few of the later peoples - عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوۡضُونَةٖ
AAala sururin mawdoonatin
On thrones woven [with ornament] - مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ
Muttakieena AAalayha mutaqabileena
Reclining on them, facing each other - يَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنٞ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
Yatoofu AAalayhim wildanun mukhalladoona
There will circulate among them young boys made eternal - بِأَكۡوَابٖ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأۡسٖ مِّن مَّعِينٖ
Biakwabin waabareeqa wakasin min maAAeenin
With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ
La yusaddaAAoona AAanha wala yunzifoona
No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - وَفَٰكِهَةٖ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
Wafakihatin mimma yatakhayyaroona
And fruit of what they select - وَلَحۡمِ طَيۡرٖ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ
Walahmi tayrin mimma yashtahoona
And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire - وَحُورٌ عِينٞ
Wahoorun AAeenun
And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes - كَأَمۡثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱلۡمَكۡنُونِ
Kaamthali allului almaknooni
The likenesses of pearls well-protected - جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
Jazaan bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
As reward for what they used to do - لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا تَأۡثِيمًا
La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala tatheeman
They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - إِلَّا قِيلٗا سَلَٰمٗا سَلَٰمٗا
Illa qeelan salaman salaman
Only a saying: "Peace, peace - وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
Waashabu alyameeni ma ashabu alyameeni
The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right - فِي سِدۡرٖ مَّخۡضُودٖ
Fee sidrin makhdoodin
[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed - وَطَلۡحٖ مَّنضُودٖ
Watalhin mandoodin
And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] - وَظِلّٖ مَّمۡدُودٖ
Wathillin mamdoodin
And shade extended - وَمَآءٖ مَّسۡكُوبٖ
Wamain maskoobin
And water poured out - وَفَٰكِهَةٖ كَثِيرَةٖ
Wafakihatin katheeratin
And fruit, abundant [and varied] - لَّا مَقۡطُوعَةٖ وَلَا مَمۡنُوعَةٖ
La maqtooAAatin wala mamnooAAatin
Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden - وَفُرُشٖ مَّرۡفُوعَةٍ
Wafurushin marfooAAatin
And [upon] beds raised high - إِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءٗ
Inna anshanahunna inshaan
Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation - فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُنَّ أَبۡكَارًا
FajaAAalnahunna abkaran
And made them virgins - عُرُبًا أَتۡرَابٗا
AAuruban atraban
Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age - لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
Liashabi alyameeni
For the companions of the right [who are] - ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Thullatun mina alawwaleena
A company of the former peoples - وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
Wathullatun mina alakhireena
And a company of the later peoples - وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ
Waashabu alshshimali ma ashabu alshshimali
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left - فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ
Fee samoomin wahameemin
[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water - وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ
Wathillin min yahmoomin
And a shade of black smoke - لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
La baridin wala kareemin
Neither cool nor beneficial - إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ
Innahum kanoo qabla thalika mutrafeena
Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence - وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Wakanoo yusirroona AAala alhinthi alAAatheemi
And they used to persist in the great violation - وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ
Wakanoo yaqooloona aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona
And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected - أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ
Awa abaona alawwaloona
And our forefathers [as well] - قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
Qul inna alawwaleena waalakhireena
Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples - لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
LamajmooAAoona ila meeqati yawmin maAAloomin
Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day - ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ
Thumma innakum ayyuha alddalloona almukaththiboona
Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers - لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ
Laakiloona min shajarin min zaqqoomin
Will be eating from trees of zaqqum - فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ
Famalioona minha albutoona
And filling with it your bellies - فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
Fashariboona AAalayhi mina alhameemi
And drinking on top of it from scalding water - فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ
Fashariboona shurba alheemi
And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels - هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
Hatha nuzuluhum yawma alddeeni
That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense - نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
Nahnu khalaqnakum falawla tusaddiqoona
We have created you, so why do you not believe - أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَ
Afaraaytum ma tumnoona
Have you seen that which you emit - ءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ
Aantum takhluqoonahu am nahnu alkhaliqoona
Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator - نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ
Nahnu qaddarna baynakumu almawta wama nahnu bimasbooqeena
We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone - عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَٰلَكُمۡ وَنُنشِئَكُمۡ فِي مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
AAala an nubaddila amthalakum wanunshiakum fee ma la taAAlamoona
In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know - وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnashata aloola falawla tathakkaroona
And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember - أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَحۡرُثُونَ
Afaraaytum ma tahruthoona
And have you seen that [seed] which you sow - ءَأَنتُمۡ تَزۡرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلزَّـٰرِعُونَ
Aantum tazraAAoonahu am nahnu alzzariAAoona
Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower - لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ حُطَٰمٗا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَ
Law nashao lajaAAalnahu hutaman fathaltum tafakkahoona
If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder - إِنَّا لَمُغۡرَمُونَ
Inna lamughramoona
[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt - بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ
Bal nahnu mahroomoona
Rather, we have been deprived - أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشۡرَبُونَ
Afaraaytumu almaa allathee tashraboona
And have you seen the water that you drink - ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَ
Aantum anzaltumoohu mina almuzni am nahnu almunziloona
Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down - لَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجٗا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ
Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajan falawla tashkuroona
If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful - أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَ
Afaraaytumu alnnara allatee tooroona
And have you seen the fire that you ignite - ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنشَأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنشِـُٔونَ
Aantum anshatum shajarataha am nahnu almunshioona
Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer - نَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَٰهَا تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَمَتَٰعٗا لِّلۡمُقۡوِينَ
Nahnu jaAAalnaha tathkiratan wamataAAan lilmuqweena
We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers - فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great - ۞فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ
Fala oqsimu bimawaqiAAi alnnujoomi
Then I swear by the setting of the stars - وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٞ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
Wainnahu laqasamun law taAAlamoona AAatheemun
And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great - إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞ
Innahu laquranun kareemun
Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an - فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ
Fee kitabin maknoonin
In a Register well-protected - لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ
La yamassuhu illa almutahharoona
None touch it except the purified - تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds - أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدۡهِنُونَ
Afabihatha alhadeethi antum mudhinoona
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent - وَتَجۡعَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ
WatajAAaloona rizqakum annakum tukaththiboona
And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider] - فَلَوۡلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلۡحُلۡقُومَ
Falawla itha balaghati alhulqooma
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat - وَأَنتُمۡ حِينَئِذٖ تَنظُرُونَ
Waantum heenaithin tanthuroona
And you are at that time looking on - وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبۡصِرُونَ
Wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi minkum walakin la tubsiroona
And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see - فَلَوۡلَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَدِينِينَ
Falawla in kuntum ghayra madeeneena
Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed - تَرۡجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
TarjiAAoonaha in kuntum sadiqeena
Bring it back, if you should be truthful - فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ
Faamma in kana mina almuqarrabeena
And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah - فَرَوۡحٞ وَرَيۡحَانٞ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٖ
Farawhun warayhanun wajannatu naAAeemin
Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure - وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
Waamma in kana min ashabi alyameeni
And if he was of the companions of the right - فَسَلَٰمٞ لَّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
Fasalamun laka min ashabi alyameeni
Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right - وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
Waamma in kana mina almukaththibeena alddalleena
But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray - فَنُزُلٞ مِّنۡ حَمِيمٖ
Fanuzulun min hameemin
Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water - وَتَصۡلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
Watasliyatu jaheemin
And burning in Hellfire - إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
Inna hatha lahuwa haqqu alyaqeeni
Indeed, this is the true certainty - فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great
