Al-Qamar The Moon meccan total:55
- ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ
Iqtarabati alssaAAatu wainshaqqa alqamaru
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two] - وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ءَايَةٗ يُعۡرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحۡرٞ مُّسۡتَمِرّٞ
Wain yaraw ayatan yuAAridoo wayaqooloo sihrun mustamirrun
And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic - وَكَذَّبُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ وَكُلُّ أَمۡرٖ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ
Wakaththaboo waittabaAAoo ahwaahum wakullu amrin mustaqirrun
And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement - وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ
Walaqad jaahum mina alanbai ma feehi muzdajarun
And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - حِكۡمَةُۢ بَٰلِغَةٞۖ فَمَا تُغۡنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ
Hikmatun balighatun fama tughnee alnnuthuru
Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them] - فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡۘ يَوۡمَ يَدۡعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ نُّكُرٍ
Fatawalla AAanhum yawma yadAAu alddaAAi ila shayin nukurin
So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding - خُشَّعًا أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ يَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمۡ جَرَادٞ مُّنتَشِرٞ
KhushshaAAan absaruhum yakhrujoona mina alajdathi kaannahum jaradun muntashirun
Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading - مُّهۡطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِۖ يَقُولُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوۡمٌ عَسِرٞ
MuhtiAAeena ila alddaAAi yaqoolu alkafiroona hatha yawmun AAasirun
Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day - ۞كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٖ فَكَذَّبُواْ عَبۡدَنَا وَقَالُواْ مَجۡنُونٞ وَٱزۡدُجِرَ
Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin fakaththaboo AAabdana waqaloo majnoonun waizdujira
The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled - فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَغۡلُوبٞ فَٱنتَصِرۡ
FadaAAa rabbahu annee maghloobun faintasir
So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help - فَفَتَحۡنَآ أَبۡوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٖ مُّنۡهَمِرٖ
Fafatahna abwaba alssamai bimain munhamirin
Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down - وَفَجَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ عُيُونٗا فَٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرٖ قَدۡ قُدِرَ
Wafajjarna alarda AAuyoonan failtaqa almao AAala amrin qad qudira
And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined - وَحَمَلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلۡوَٰحٖ وَدُسُرٖ
Wahamalnahu AAala thati alwahin wadusurin
And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails - تَجۡرِي بِأَعۡيُنِنَا جَزَآءٗ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ
Tajree biaAAyunina jazaan liman kana kufira
Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied - وَلَقَد تَّرَكۡنَٰهَآ ءَايَةٗ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
Walaqad taraknaha ayatan fahal min muddakirin
And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember - فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning - وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember - كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٞ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Kaththabat AAadun fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning - إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا صَرۡصَرٗا فِي يَوۡمِ نَحۡسٖ مُّسۡتَمِرّٖ
Inna arsalna AAalayhim reehan sarsaran fee yawmi nahsin mustamirrin
Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune - تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٖ مُّنقَعِرٖ
TanziAAu alnnasa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin munqaAAirin
Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted - فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning - وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember - كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
Kaththabat thamoodu bialnnuthuri
Thamud denied the warning - فَقَالُوٓاْ أَبَشَرٗا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدٗا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذٗا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٍ
Faqaloo abasharan minna wahidan nattabiAAuhu inna ithan lafee dalalin wasuAAurin
And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness - أَءُلۡقِيَ ٱلذِّكۡرُ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا بَلۡ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٞ
Aolqiya alththikru AAalayhi min baynina bal huwa kaththabun ashirun
Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar - سَيَعۡلَمُونَ غَدٗا مَّنِ ٱلۡكَذَّابُ ٱلۡأَشِرُ
SayaAAlamoona ghadan mani alkaththabu alashiru
They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar - إِنَّا مُرۡسِلُواْ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتۡنَةٗ لَّهُمۡ فَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡ وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ
Inna mursiloo alnnaqati fitnatan lahum fairtaqibhum waistabir
Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient - وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ أَنَّ ٱلۡمَآءَ قِسۡمَةُۢ بَيۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلُّ شِرۡبٖ مُّحۡتَضَرٞ
Wanabbihum anna almaa qismatun baynahum kullu shirbin muhtadarun
And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn] - فَنَادَوۡاْ صَاحِبَهُمۡ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ
Fanadaw sahibahum fataAAata faAAaqara
But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her] - فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning - إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَكَانُواْ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ
Inna arsalna AAalayhim sayhatan wahidatan fakanoo kahasheemi almuhtathiri
Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen - وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember - كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطِۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
Kaththabat qawmu lootin bialnnuthuri
The people of Lot denied the warning - إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٖۖ نَّجَّيۡنَٰهُم بِسَحَرٖ
Inna arsalna AAalayhim hasiban illa ala lootin najjaynahum bisaharin
Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn - نِّعۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِنَاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي مَن شَكَرَ
NiAAmatan min AAindina kathalika najzee man shakara
As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful - وَلَقَدۡ أَنذَرَهُم بَطۡشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوۡاْ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
Walaqad antharahum batshatana fatamaraw bialnnuthuri
And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning - وَلَقَدۡ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيۡفِهِۦ فَطَمَسۡنَآ أَعۡيُنَهُمۡ فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Walaqad rawadoohu AAan dayfihi fatamasna aAAyunahum fathooqoo AAathabee wanuthuri
And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning - وَلَقَدۡ صَبَّحَهُم بُكۡرَةً عَذَابٞ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ
Walaqad sabbahahum bukratan AAathabun mustaqirrun
And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment - فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Fathooqoo AAathabee wanuthuri
So taste My punishment and warning - وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember - وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ
Walaqad jaa ala firAAawna alnnuthuru
And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warning - كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمۡ أَخۡذَ عَزِيزٖ مُّقۡتَدِرٍ
Kaththaboo biayatina kulliha faakhathnahum akhtha AAazeezin muqtadirin
They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability - أَكُفَّارُكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكُمۡ أَمۡ لَكُم بَرَآءَةٞ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ
Akuffarukum khayrun min olaikum am lakum baraatun fee alzzuburi
Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scripture - أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَحۡنُ جَمِيعٞ مُّنتَصِرٞ
Am yaqooloona nahnu jameeAAun muntasirun
Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other] - سَيُهۡزَمُ ٱلۡجَمۡعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ
Sayuhzamu aljamAAu wayuwalloona alddubura
[Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat] - بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوۡعِدُهُمۡ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدۡهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ
Bali alssaAAatu mawAAiduhum waalssaAAatu adha waamarru
But the Hour is their appointment [for due punishment], and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitter - إِنَّ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٖ
Inna almujrimeena fee dalalin wasuAAurin
Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness - يَوۡمَ يُسۡحَبُونَ فِي ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمۡ ذُوقُواْ مَسَّ سَقَرَ
Yawma yushaboona fee alnnari AAala wujoohihim thooqoo massa saqara
The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], "Taste the touch of Saqar - إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ بِقَدَرٖ
Inna kulla shayin khalaqnahu biqadarin
Indeed, all things We created with predestination - وَمَآ أَمۡرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٞ كَلَمۡحِۭ بِٱلۡبَصَرِ
Wama amruna illa wahidatun kalamhin bialbasari
And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye - وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
Walaqad ahlakna ashyaAAakum fahal min muddakirin
And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember - وَكُلُّ شَيۡءٖ فَعَلُوهُ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ
Wakullu shayin faAAaloohu fee alzzuburi
And everything they did is in written records - وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٖ وَكَبِيرٖ مُّسۡتَطَرٌ
Wakullu sagheerin wakabeerin mustatarun
And every small and great [thing] is inscribed - إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَنَهَرٖ
Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin wanaharin
Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers - فِي مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٖ مُّقۡتَدِرِۭ
Fee maqAAadi sidqin AAinda maleekin muqtadirin
In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability
